Picking your wedding photographer is no small feat. Chances are I am not the first photographer's website you've landed on and if we're being completely honest here, I may not be the last... although I hope I am. ;) Your photographer is the one person who will be with you for the majority of your day, from start to finish... while you're getting ready, getting hype with your bridesmaids, holding your dress while you pee, witnessing your first look, tearing up watching you say your vows, cracking jokes with your bridal party, taming your crazy fam, hugging your sweet grandma, capturing those intimate moments just the two of you, your first dance, the mama in me making sure you both have eaten something and have a drink in hand, in the thick of it... the dancing, the celebrating, all of it —

Let's get real for a minute... are you professional models? No? Me either. The truth is, I don’t expect you to be. At the end of the day, my number one goal always is to capture the REAL YOU - whatever and wherever that looks like which is why I take my time getting to know you way before my camera even comes out. Once you book with me, I will be there every step of the way. LITERALLY. From helping you pick the perfect outfits, to finding that epic location that completes your vision, to our adventure together, to delivering your final gallery. I GOTCHU HOMIE.
We are super awkward and hate having our pictures taken (especially my partner), how do you overcome that?
It's going to sound so cliche'... but A FUN EFFIN' TIME!!! Seriously, do not stress AT ALL. I am super chill, promise. ;) My shooting style is very hands on and movement driven - which you will notice as soon as we get started. Instead of giving you stiff, awkward poses to try and nail, I will give you prompts. I prefer prompting over posing because it isn't forced. It's fun, it's natural, it's comfortable and it allows your personalities and playfulness to really shine.
What should I expect for my session?
TRUTH - I always do a little happy dance when my clients ask me for outfit advice. :) Not because I'm some sort of OCD control freak (haha) but because I truly love walking every step of this process with you... helping you, serving you, and giving you real, no BS advice.
Since my shooting style is a little wild and free, I always recommend you wear something that is comfortable and has some movement to it. Guaranteed, I will have you walking, running, dancing, twirling, dipping, kissing, hugging, and cuddling so please do not show up in a pencil skirt and stilettos. I mean you totally can... but just know there will be some challenges and limitations we will have to work through haha.
What should I wear to my session?
If the forecast is calling for rain on the day of your session, DO NOT FREAK OUT! I know that is most people's initial reaction to rain but 90% of the time it is not a deal breaker. If there is one thing I've learned about living in the mountains it is there is ALWAYS a chance for some rain, no matter the season. Does it always happen? No - and because of that I try to wait as long as possible before making the call. In the rare occasion, it is a total wash out (like a heavy, torrential downpour, monsoon kinda rain) we will most likely reschedule. However, if you and your boo are totally cool with the possibility of getting a little wet and want to chance it anyway... ya girl is always down to play in some rain. Rain ain't nothing but a thang chicken wang.
What happens if rain is in the forecast for our session?
For regular sessions and engagements sessions my turnaround time is 2-3 weeks. For weddings and elopements it is 8 weeks.
8 WEEKS? Say wuuuutttt?! Bride and grooms, do not fret... I am not that mean. I wouldn't just leave ya hanging like that. I will send a small preview gallery a few days after your wedding to help ease your wait. ;)
What is your turnaround time?
You will always have the option to purchase professional prints through me however, all galleries do come with a print release just in case you'd rather make your own prints. If you do prefer making your own prints, I'd be happy to recommend some of my favorite print shops. Picking your print shop is so important. Printing from a professional print shop versus a Target or a drugstore will give you a much higher quality product and surprisingly is a lot more affordable than people think.
How do I print my photos?
YES! YES! YES! And they are TO. DIE. FOR. Ordering an album from me is super simple. Once you receive your final gallery, we will select all the custom finishes for your album. After that, I will ask you to pick x number of your favorite photos from your gallery and wa-la, that's it. I will handle the rest - the arranging, the layout, the ordering, the delivering... piece of cake! These albums are so worth the investment. The quality is second to none, they are totally customizable, and are such a beautiful way to display your photos and relive your wedding day. Don't let your images sit on a USB, or on your phone... PRINT PEOPLE! I promise you won't regret it.
Do you offer wedding albums?
No. Complimentary means free! The engagement session that comes with your wedding package is an optional “freebie” that you can choose to use or not. It holds no monetary value, so the only thing you lose out on is fun photos with your lover. It is a free gift and helps you get a feel for my shooting style and also gives us a chance to meet and have some fun before your big day!
Can we save money by removing the complimentary engagement session from our wedding package?
Travel fees are calculated based upon mileage and are not included in my pricing. For sessions within a 50 mile radius of Boone - I do NOT charge a travel fee however, if your desired session location goes outside of that 50 mile radius - a travel fee may apply and will be added into your final package price.
How do your travel fees work?
Much like my sessions, my wedding packages do NOT include travel or lodging fees. That being said, weddings over 90 minutes away from Boone, NC I do request that lodging (hotel or Airbnb) be secured for the NIGHT BEFORE the wedding as well as the NIGHT OF the wedding. This helps me best prepare for your day. For very distant weddings, additional travel related expenses such as gas, car rental, airfare costs (if applicable) will be added into to your travel fee quote.
